Sunday, I'll be leading a group mountain bike ride at Paul Douglas Forest Preserve in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. I will be riding the single track trails.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO MOUNTAIN BIKE!
Anyone is welcome to come out and ride the paved trail around the forest preserve or head out into Barrington Hills for some beautiful road miles.
Afterward, join us for socializing in the parking lot at the bike shop!
New to mountain biking? Join our MOUNTAIN BIKING BASICS CLINIC (This bike shop RENTS mountain bikes).

Mountain Biking:
9 Mile Beginner Ride: PD West Side Route
16 Mile Intermediate Ride: Half East Full West
Paved Trail:
6 Mile Paved Out & Back (to Crabtree Nature Center)
7.7 Paved Trail Loop (Beginner - Intermediate)
Road and Trail:
7.2 Mile Road and Trail Loop (Beginner - Intermediate)
Road Routes:
14 Mile Road Route (Beginner - Intermediate)
20+ Mile Intermediate Ride (avoids Lake Cook Road)
30 Mile Road Ride (rest stop @ Starbucks Barrington)

WHAT TO BRING:
Appropriate clothing for the forecasted weather.
Snacks and/or beverages for socializing after the ride.
A chair as we'll be hanging out in the parking lot.
If you are new to mountain biking or single track, please arrive early for a quick 15 - 20 minute Basic Skills Clinic. Please watch this video prior to Sunday's ride:

A HELMET IS MANDATORY for this ride. Extra padding/protection is at the discretion of the rider. You should also bring the normal accoutrement; (ID with Emergency Contact and insurance card(s), spare inner tube, pump, etc.), proper attire based on the weather forecast, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, money for food and/or beverage, a bicycle lock and a good attitude!
