Intermediate (35-40 mile) Virgil Gilman Trail (DO NOT SIGN UP FOR BEG RIDE)

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE BEGINNING RIDE Note: The address below is actually the address of the restaurant, La Quebrada, next to the trail. There are a few parking spaces at the entrance. Continue on around the road to find more parking down below. THERE ARE NO RESTROOMS AT TRAILHEAD. MAKE SURE TO FIND A BATHROOM BEFORE YOU ARRIVE.

We will start by riding doing a round trip ride to St. Charles on the Fox River Trail. After returning to Aurora, we will ride the Virgil Gilman Trail. This is a beautiful trail (5-star rating on TrailLink that has been a group favorite.) The Virgil Gilman Trail is around 22 miles round trip. The total mileage for this ride will be around 40 miles.

There will be an optional lunch at Two Brothers after the ride. Please sign up for that separately so we can let the restaurant know how many to expect.
We welcome a variety of riders and bike types, who can maintain at least 13-14 MPH ride pace (if you cannot, sign up for the Beginning Ride), and we typically divide into 2-3 groups, so slower pace riders can be comfortable!

HELMET IS MANDATORY, as is a properly maintained bike. Moreover, we do not allow earbuds, earphones, or speakers on this ride.

Other things to bring: (1) photo ID, emergency contact info & insurance card, (2) spare tube & pump/CO2 (3) water bottle. Goes without saying but please dress for weather including sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, rain poncho. While this is a daylight ride, headlight and taillight are recommended to make you more visible.
