Short and sweet free 2-hour Tableau and Alteryx trainings (1.5 hour training, and up to 30 mins at the end for questions!)

Want to learn how to harness the power of your data, but are short on time? If you’re new to Tableau and Alteryx, or an experienced user, then our speedy 2-hour hands-on sessions are for you (1.5 hour training, and up to 30 mins at the end for questions!).

We are running introductory sessions every other week where we will help you get to grips with data in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, Tableau Server and Web Edit, and Alteryx Designer. These sessions will run concurrently, so come along to a different session each time to supercharge your data skills!

Our sessions are hands-on, so make sure you are ready-to-go by downloading a copy of the software for the session on your laptop (you can download trial versions of Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep and Alteryx Designer. We will show you our Demo Tableau Server through the browser for our Server and Web Edit, and Explorer Licence trainings).

Session Overviews

### Tableau Working with Dates (Beginner)

Working with dates in Tableau can drive you nuts! In this session we give you a grounding in how Tableau handles dates (eg ‘the difference between discrete vs continuous dates’; ‘what are date parts’?). We then take working with dates one step further by looking at common date calculations like year over year comparisons, and rolling dates.

### Tableau Desktop Sets and Parameters (Advanced)

This session covers what Sets and Parameters are, how you create them, and how you can make them more dynamic and interactive using Actions. Once you’re across each feature, you’ll fall in love with them all over again when you see how they become even more powerful when used in combination.

### Tableau for Explorer Licences (Beginner)

If you use Tableau with an Explorer Licence and want to learn more about the tool and how to create charts then this session is for you! This is a version of our popular Tableau Desktop training tailored for people with Tableau Explorer licences. (How do you know if you have an Explorer licence? You can only create workbooks from published data sources, or edit published dashboards, through Tableau Online in the browser or on mobile).

### Alteryx for Excel Users (Beginner)

This session will help those approaching Alteryx from an Excel background to bridge the gap between functions in Excel and Alteryx.
