Real Personal Finance: A Casual Meetup on Money Stories

Details
Real Personal Finance: A Casual Meetup on Money Stories
Location: TBD
Keeping it maximum 15 people to keep conversations high-quality.
No slides. No selling. Just stories.
Ever made a good financial decision you’re proud of? Or a mistake you learned from the hard way? Come join a small, low-key gathering where we swap real-life experiences about money—what worked, what didn’t, and what we wish we knew earlier.
This isn’t a panel or a workshop. It’s just a few people over coffee, talking openly about their financial journeys.
I can talk about a few things like:
- How I optimized my departure from France to reduce taxes while still investing with the plan of coming back one day
- How I helped my wife choose between an S-Corp and a sole proprietorship for her freelance business
- How I approached 401(k) contributions during my time at Google
- How I rebalanced my portfolio to be more cash-flowing as I became a founder with no income
You’re invited to share your own experience—or just come listen. If there’s something you’re currently navigating, bring the question. Someone in the room has probably faced something similar.
We also hope people will share with one another how they manage their finances—whether it’s the tools they use for budgeting, how they research investment options, or the spreadsheets they live by. It’s a chance to swap workflows, not just war stories.
We’re not giving financial advice—just sharing real stories, useful tools, and maybe a few mistakes over coffee.
Our goal?
To break the taboo around money and meet other people who geek out on personal finance, just like we do.
Who’s this for?
Freelancers, founders, W-2 workers, immigrants, FIRE folks, side hustlers, tax nerds—anyone with a financial story or curiosity to share.
Bring:
A story, a question, a mistake, a win, your favorite tool—or just yourself.
