Let's Walk!! the Pompton Valley Rail Trail
Details
There's a new multi-use paved path in Pequannock, so let's check it out. Opened in 2025, it's one of Morris County Parks newest and largest trail initiatives.
We'll meet at 9:30 to walk to the northern terminus and back. It's about 3 miles and we'll finish in about 75 minutes.
Feeling strong and adventurous? Come at 7:00 and we'll walk to the southern end and back before the others join us. This section is an additional 7 miles to go out and back.
Bring water. Wear good shoes and a hat (some sections are quite exposed). There are several street crossings.
Please make sure to RSVP and arrive 5 minutes prior to start time.
We start promptly at the time posted.
Timeline:
7:00 AM - walk begins southbound from Pequannock Valley Park
8:15 AM - return to start
9:30 AM - regular Meetup event begins - walking northbound
10:30-11:00 AM - finish (depending on pace)
