Find your first letterbox!

I'm going to repeat this on a regular basis Saturday and Sundays. This is a really good starter box and gives a spot to meet where we can hang out and talk about letterboxing. There have been several times we tried to start this up and only had a single person sign up, and that doesn't feel like the safest thing out in a forest somewhere! If there is a different time that works better for you, reach out and we'll work to make it happen!

This is meant to be an introduction to the hobby. Warning: many of us have found it to be fairly addicting and get slightly (and in some cases extremely) obsessed with it! The upside of this is that it will take you out exploring the area, take you to new parks and locations, and every day letterboxing is a new adventure!

We will find a letterbox at this event. Letterboxes are designated by length of the walk, this is a stroll, so a short walk. If you want to go all in, you can look at carving your own stamp. There are tutorials on the Atlasquest website. Another option for new boxers is to draw an image. We'll have some paper and stamp pads available. Again if you are thinking of going all in, most people's logbooks are a bound journal, unlined paper, something with a little heavier paper weight so that the ink does not bleed through.
We'll do a basic introduction to the hobby and talk about carving your own stamps and planting letterboxes.
