Likeminded adults of all ages are welcomed to attend our first event: Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in the Small Meeting Room at the Tates Creek Branch of the Lexington Public Library! Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP for your attendance slot here on Meetup. Room occupancy limit is 20.
The first 10 individuals who RSVP for and attend our first meeting will receive a free paperback copy of Dr. Timothy Snyder's On Tyranny Graphic Edition: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century as a gift at the first meeting. Spearhead and Carpe Librum, Lex Liberty's co-organizers, are ineligible for said gift.
It will be a great chance to meet fellow concerned citizens, and we will begin our trek by following Veterans Fighting Fascism's first meeting itinerary (https://www.veteransfightingfascism.org/first-meeting-antifascist-book-club-leader-guides). The meeting organizer will print the first meeting's above-referenced materials for all attendees.
The meeting organizer is not a U.S. military veteran nor is there any veteran status requirement for any event attendee. Veterans Fighting Fascism will serve as a valuable resource for our book club. Their framework (https://www.veteransfightingfascism.org/antifascist-book-club-home) will serve as a guide for our first several meetings, as the event organizer is new at structuring a book club . Likeminded U.S. military veterans will, of course, be welcomed with open arms.
We look forward to meeting likeminded friends in our community soon. After we get our footing, we will forge our own path together.
