Hike the historic trails at Camp Nelson National Monument. There are a total of about 5 miles of trails. Route options and distances are available for viewing the sites of former forts and a wooded section for seeing wildflowers. Visit the free museum, exhibits, and view a 17-minute film about the role Camp Nelson played during the Civil War. We will meet at 1:50pm in the Visitor Center parking lot. The Visitor Center is open until 5pm, but the park is open until sunset. Dogs on a leash are allowed on the trails in the park.
