Phenomenology: The Philosophy of Experience

Is it possible to disentangle the objective "outside looking in" from the subjective experience of reality? Can we effectively determine causes and explanations for a phenomenon without first experiencing the thing we seek to understand?

To address such questions is to probe into the intriguing philosophy of first-person experience, referred to as phenomenology.

On Sunday, September 20th at 4:00 p.m. at the Bingham Davis House, we will read and discuss an article by philosophy professor Matthew Sanderson published on 1000wordphilosophy titled, Phenomenology: Describing Experiences From a First-Person Perspective, while enjoying food, beverages and camaraderie.
