See all- Chasing Middle Tennessee WaterfallsNeeds location
Come experience the adventure of waterfall chasing in Tennessee. There are hikes which plunge you into dense forests and hikes to overlooks with breathtaking panoramic views or there are hikes that end with mystical picturesque waterfalls. Sometimes hikes can be all three. There is nothing more magical than the sound of rushing water paired with stunning views of water cascading over rocks. Three are 4 state parks in Tennessee with 25 waterfalls and only 87 total miles apart. We'll be staying at Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville. Cabins include BBQ Grill, Dishes & Utensils, Full Kitchen, Linens, Picnic Table, TV / Cable, WiFi/ Internet, and bathrooms with showers. During the day we'll hike to the falls at each state park. Grocery stores are in the area as well as restaurants. Bring a day pack with the ten essentials and two canteens for water. Some falls won't allow swimming while others do. Bring a swimsuit and towel if you want for those falls which do allow swimming. As soon as you know you want to go, sign up and make a reservation for a cabin. There are currently cabins available which hold 2, 3 and 4 people. We'll meet on the morning of Friday August 30th at Hamburg Meijer by the Tesla charging stations at 9:45 AM. We''ll leave at 10:00 AM. I have room for 3 people in my car Depending on how many people are interested, we may need more drivers. State Parks include Rock Island State Park, Cummins Falls State Park, Burgess Falls State Park, Falls Creek Falls State Park and Ozone Falls. At Cummins Falls State Park, to access the gorge area, you must buy an access permit. Day-Use Permit Reservations | Cummins Falls State Park, TN (tnstateparks.com)
