Hyperledger: Exploring the Fabric Blockchain

Details
To provide everyone with a live view of the Fabric Blockchain, we will deploy Hyperledger Explorer and connect it our deployment. Hyperledger Explorer is a standalone web application with its own database, web client, and security credentials. Setting up and connecting Explorer can be fairly involved, so we will outline the major steps and then walk through installation. This meetup presentation has the following goals:
- Understand the capabilities of Hyperledger Explorer
- Outline steps required to install Explorer
- Install and connect Explorer to Fabric
- Visualize data from Fabric and watch it changing, live
We will provide a code repository that that contains the template, and the list of steps we use for deploying Hyperledger Explorer. Bring your laptop and we will assist you with any issues you have during setup and testing.
The Linux Foundation sponsors a portfolio of free, open source Blockchains and tools, called "Hyperledger". Major tech companies around the world (IBM, Intel, Samsung, etc) donate code to the Hyperledger Project and actively develop new versions. This portfolio consists of 5 different Blockchains to choose from and sophisticated tools including:
- Composer : building rapid prototypes
- Cello : deploying your prototypes in the cloud
- Explorer : view your blockchain through a web page
- Quilt : moving assets and data between Blockchains
This meetup is free to BlockSpaces members, $10 for non-members
