Marylebone to Paddington pub crawl

Details

A pub crawl from Marylebone High Street to Paddington. Our planned line-up is as below, though check back nearer the date in case there are any late changes. You're welcome to join us at any point on the crawl, but note that timings are approximate.

The first pub is approximately 6-7 mins walk from Baker Street (tube), and twice that from Marylebone (mainline) or Bond Street (tube/Elizabeth). The last pub is 2 mins walk from Paddington (tube/Elizabeth/mainline). There's a 15-20 minute walk between pubs 2 and 3, and around 5-6 mins between all the others.
---------------------------------------------------
12:30 Prince Regent, 71 Marylebone High St, W1U 5JN
Posh corner pub in Marylebone, with half a dozen (usually well-known) real ales such as Tribute, UBU Purity, Southwold Bitter, Sussex Best, Reverend James, and a changing range of 'craft beers' - as seen here. They also do a good food menu - at Marylebone prices!

13:45 Barley Mow, 8 Dorset St, W1U 6QW
Late-18th century, Grade II listed pub (inside and out), with a wide range of both cask and keg 'craft' beers, as seen here. They have a 'traditional' pub menu focused on pies and puddings, with some 'bar snacks' (some of which sound like more than snacks).

15:15 Monkey Puzzle, 30 Southwick St, W2 1JQ
A complete contrast, being in a post-war nondescript building. Notable in being one of only a handful of pubs in London that serve beers from the Dorset-based Badger brewery, usually Fursty Ferret and Tanglefoot. Food is not recommended.

16:15 The Victoria, 10A Strathearn Pl, W2 2NH
Classic Fullers' pub with a traditional and recently renovated interior. Several cask ales on tap, generally including London Pride, ESB or HSB, Oliver's Island, and a couple of guest ales. Decent food menu.

17:15 The Bear, 29 Spring Street, W2 1JA
Craft beer bar, with a claimed 29 keg and 6 cask pumps. The range is biased towards the lighter and hoppier beers, but almost always with a bitter and stout/porter available. Today's offering can be found here. There's a wide range of bottled beers too (200+!), including from Belgium, but some of these are on the pricy side - check before ordering! Limited food menu focusing on burgers and bar snacks.

There are lots of dining options near Paddington, though they're mostly aimed at the tourist market. Paddington station contains Sainsbury's Local and M&S supermarkets, as well as chains such as Pret, Wasabi and Leon - plus two more pubs for the unsated!
