We are visiting the fabulous and large LGBT ARCHIVE at Liverpool John Moores University( Aldham Robarts Library)for a
WORKSHOP, facilitated by STEVE BENSON, published writer on LGBT history
With the help of the LJMU Assistant Archivist
Choose your artefacts/materials from the collection and write about them; in particular : what they mean to you personally; but anything that is evoked by these wonderful resonances/remembrances/celebrations from our wonderful lgbt past:)
We have the use of the Reading Room, where the archives are displayed; AND a writing room.
PLEASE BRING 1 X PHOTO ID,to show to Reception in the foyer, on arrival{if this is an issue, please pm me on here}

QUEER THE PAGE IS A MERSEYSIDE LGBTQ(18+) safer-space group; lgbtq (18+) people only.
All levels of writing welcome; no pressure to share your work, but we will be doing this if attendees want to(with constructive critique, if you require it; see later feedback guidelines)
SUITABLE FOR NEWCOMERS TO OUR WRITING GROUP( as well as regulars)

We meet-in the library main foyer- at 12.45 for a 1 pm(sharp!) start(see directions in this post). We cannot guarantee admission to anyone arriving between 1 and 1.10; no admittance AT ALL after 1.10 pm.
*You need to attend for the whole two hours*
Please wash your hands just before the start of the session(you can do this IN the library). Do NOT wear gloves.
Please note only pencils to be used in the Reading(Archive) room; but biros can be used in the Writing Room

FACILITIES
Wheelchair-accessible throughout.
You cannot bring drinks/food into the main part of the Archive(you must leave any bags by the entrance to Archive); but there is drinks machine nearby so you can go out and get a drink and come back(and wash your hands again!).
There will be short break in the middle of the session.

OUR GROUP'S FEEDBACK MODEL:
CONSTRUCTIVE, DEVELOPMENTAL FEEDBACK: ie no feedback "sandwiches"(as filling is not often very tasty...);
so ENCOURAGEMENT; but ALSO, the way FORWARD for your peer writers, eg "you could DEVELOP a character /image further, perhaps"
YOU can also request the kind of feedback(or NO feedback) you want!
PLEASE REMEMBER ALL CRITIQUE/FEEDBACK IS SUBJECTIVE.

OUR GROUP'S TRIGGER WARNING SUBJECTS(for the workshop):
ANY sexual or physical abuse.
Large amounts of violence generally
ANY references to suicide,including THOUGHTS of suicide(ideation)
ANY references to self-harm.
However, in the Archive itself, there may be materials of a sexual nature
