With READING IN PUBLIC in mind, we have:
A PRACTICAL WORKSHOP, on 'READING YOUR WORK IN PUBLIC",led by Jeremy Dixon, one of our regular facilitators.
We have some public reading opportunities for our group coming up; but this is useful for ALL public performances of your work.
Queer Voices need to be heard and the aim of this workshop is help people read their work confidently in public.
In the first part Jeremy will guide participants through a range of different performing techniques, skills and suggestions.
in the second half people will have the opportunity to practice reading their work out loud in a safe space to a supportive audience (but no one has to read if they don’t want to!).
PREPARATION(necessary to take part in the workshop)
Please bring along a short piece of your writing (up to two minutes long and in any genre) suitable for reading aloud and that doesn’t have content that needs a trigger warning.( see later for list of our content/trigger-warning list)
