🥾 QueerHike: Pötzleinsdorf ➡️ Feuerwache am Steinhof

(For English scroll down) Gemeinsam erleben wir eine gemütliche Stadtwanderung im Grünen: Von Pötzleinsdorf geht es auf leicht begehbaren Wegen rund 6 km quer durch den Wiener Westen bis zur historischen Feuerwache am Steinhof.​

Tourbeschreibung

Wir starten in Pötzleinsdorf und spazieren in knapp 2 Stunden mit etwa 280 Höhenmetern durch Wald- und Spazierwege Richtung Steinhof, ohne technische Schwierigkeiten und für alle Fitnesslevel geeignet. Unterwegs erwarten uns vorwiegend naturbelassene und geschotterte Wege, nur kurze Abschnitte führen über Nebenstraßen oder Asphalt.​

Highlight

Ziel der Tour ist die denkmalgeschützte Feuerwache am Steinhof aus dem Jahr 1930, ein zweigeschossiger Bau mit charakteristischer Walmdach-Architektur und markanter Fassadengestaltung. Dort lassen wir die Wanderung gemütlich ausklingen und können – je nach Lust und Laune – noch einen Abstecher in die Umgebung oder zur nächsten Öffi-Station machen.

Hinweis

Bitte entsprechend warme Kleidung und für eine Wanderung taugliche Schuhe mitbringen. Es kann an den Weg glatt sein. Jeder wandert auf eigene Verantwortung.

Together we’ll explore a relaxed urban walk: starting in Pötzleinsdorf, we follow easy paths for about 6 km across the western part of Vienna to the historic Steinhof fire station.

Tour description

We set off in Pötzleinsdorf and stroll for just under two hours, covering around 280 meters of elevation gain, along forest and walking paths toward Steinhof. The route has no technical difficulties and is suitable for all fitness levels. Along the way, we mostly walk on natural and gravel paths; only short sections run along side streets or asphalt.

Highlight at the destination

The destination of the tour is the listed Steinhof fire station, built in 1930—a two-story building with distinctive hipped-roof architecture and a striking façade design. Here we round off the walk at a leisurely pace and, depending on mood and energy, can take a short detour in the surrounding area or head to the nearest public transport stop.

Note

Please bring sufficiently warm clothing and shoes suitable for hiking. The path may be slippery in places. Everyone participates at their own risk.
