About Transgender Day of Visibility
Observed annually on March 31, Transgender Day of Visibility was established in 2009 by activist Rachel Crandall to celebrate the achievements, resilience, and joy of transgender people. While Transgender Day of Remembrance honors those lost to violence, TDOV focuses on visibility, empowerment, and celebration of trans lives.
The day also reminds us of the challenges transgender individuals continue to face — including discrimination and harmful legislation — and highlights the importance of standing together as a community to advocate for equality and respect.
Why visibility matters:
Visibility helps break down stereotypes, promotes understanding, and ensures that transgender voices and experiences are recognized as an essential part of our community.
How allies can support:
💙 Listen to and amplify trans voices
💗 Educate yourself about transgender experiences and rights
🤍 Support trans-led organizations and businesses
💙 Speak up against transphobia and discrimination
Come celebrate, learn, connect, and show your support for the transgender community. All are welcome.
