Living at the Intersections: A Candid Conversation on Identity, Pride, and Resilience

Join us for an open, honest, and heartfelt evening exploring what it means to live at the intersection of multiple identities.

For many LGBTQI+ people, embracing who we are is a powerful journey—but it doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Our experiences are shaped not only by our sexuality or gender identity, but also by race, faith, disability, class, culture, and more.

These overlapping aspects of identity can bring rich perspectives, but also additional challenges—especially in a world that doesn’t always recognise or respect them.

This event is a space to listen, reflect, and connect. We’ll hear from a diverse panel of speakers who live with intersecting identities and who will share their personal insights, struggles, and joys.

In a relaxed and conversational setting, they’ll discuss what intersectionality means to them—and how we can build more inclusive communities by acknowledging and honouring our full selves and each other.

Following the panel, the floor will open for a group discussion, where everyone is welcome to share thoughts, ask questions, or simply listen.

Afterwards, we’ll move to a nearby venue for informal drinks and continued conversation—because we know there’s always more to say.

Our wonderful panel includes:

Kashif Chowdhury, Peer Support Facilitator with Faith to Faithless

Aseel, Research Associate with Faith to Faithless

Giovanni Gaetani, author-to-be sharing his journey as queer and ex-religious

Mike Higgins, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion committee member, Humanists UK

Nick Baldwin, Coordinator, LGBT Humanists

Gavin Fraser-Gosling, Outreach Officer, LGBT Humanists
