What we’re about
LGBTQ+ Daytime Off-Hours Weekday Adventurers Club
Free during the day when the rest of the world is on the clock? Us too.
Welcome to the LGBTQ+ Daytime Off-Hours Society, a social adventure group for LGBTQ+ folks (and our allies!) who have daytime freedom and want to make the most of it. Whether you’re retired, work evenings, freelance, are new to LA, or just happen to have a weekday off — this group is for you.
Founded by Steve — an outgoing, preppy, Virgo-level organized, and recently retired aerospace nerd — the group was born out of one simple truth: daytime fun is better with company. After searching for daytime social groups and finding none, Steve set out on solo adventures… which were fine, but let’s be real — everything is more fun with friends.
We meet between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm for a variety of activities around LA and surrounding areas. Expect an ever-evolving mix of:
• Museum meetups
• Local hikes and nature walks
• Urban exploring and street art strolls
• Theme park visits (we see you, Disneyland)
• Foodie adventures and coffee crawls
• Beach hangouts and bike rides
• Photography outings
• Gardens, exhibits, bookstores, pop-ups, and more!
This group is tailored for LGBTQ+ folks, but is absolutely open to all — regardless of gender, orientation, religion, or background. If you’re fun, friendly, and open to connecting, you’re welcome here. If you're shy or nervous, Steve will be sure to make you feel included. He understands that new groups can be intimidating.
All events are held in public spaces, so if you’re new or a bit shy, no worries — this is a low-pressure, come-as-you-are kind of group. And if a tight-knit core crew forms, there may be more private or special events in the future.
Whether you’re looking for conversation, community, or just a reason to get out of the house while the sun’s still up — this is your invitation. Let’s make some daytime magic together!
Got questions? Drop Steve a message — he’s always happy to chat.
