Has The Gay Rights Movement Radicalized And Lost Its Way?

Andrew Sullivan, a gay conservative, recently published in the New Your Times an opinion that the Gay Rights Movement should wind down since all its objectives have been accomplished. He criticizes the movement for, instead, embracing the battle for Trans rights. He believes that this will result in a backlash that will endanger the hard-won rights of gay people. He, furthermore, believes that gender affirming care is harmful to gay and lesbian children. We will critique Sullivan’s article, consult scientific papers to get an accurate understanding of current gender affirming care and explore how the experiences of Gay/Lesbian/Bi people are similar and different to the experiences of Trans people.
