🌈 Hikers - Last Minute Hike! - Hudson Highlands State Park -Bull Hill Full Loop
Cold Spring Station, Market Street, Cold Spring, NY, USDetails
Hey there, hikers! Join 🌈 Hikers as we kick-off 2026 with our first hike of the year! Work off all of those holiday treats and start the new year on the right foot with a hike through the Bull Hill Full Loop in Hudson Highlands State Park! Easily accessible by train or car from NYC, this 5.3-mile loop includes a summit of Bull Hill and great views of the Hudson!
The Hike Details:
The plan is to complete the Bull Hill Full Loop (5.3 miles). This is described as a moderate hike, with a modest elevation climb. I’ll send a picture of the intended loop and an All-Trails description of the hike to registrants, since I'm not able to upload more photos here. The trailhead to start is at the Washburn Trail (7357 Louisiana 57, Cold Spring New York 10516)
What to Pack:
· Sturdy hiking boots or trail runners
· Layered clothing, including a water-resistant jacket and gloves
· Plenty of water (I would recommend at least 2 Liters)
· Packed lunch and any snacks
Getting There:
Car - Park in the Metro-North Cold Spring Station Parking Lot, being conscious of designated or off-limits zones. Address: Cold Spring Metro-North, Philipsburg, New York 10516. Link to Metro-North Cold Spring: Cold Spring
The trailhead to start is at the Washburn Trail (7357 Louisiana 57, Cold Spring New York 10516)
Rail - From Grand Central Station, take the 08:50 AM Metro North Hudson Line (#8811) to Poughkeepsie. Get off at Cold Spring Station at approximately 10:14. We’ll meet at the Cold Spring Station and walk the short distance to the trailhead.
Note: As with all events, all hikers/participants are ultimately responsible for their own safety and health. Hiking can be a physically-demanding exercise, and all potential hikers should conder their current circumstances prior to participating.1 attendee
