# Welcome to the STL LGBTQ+ Meetup! This group is a hub for LGBTQ+ people in the St. Louis area to meet new friends, discover local events, access support spaces, and explore opportunities to engage with the community.

Howdy! My name is elle (they/she), and I’m the new admin for this Meetup group. I joined Meetup in 2024 as an organizer to start Rainbow Fit Club, and I joined this group around the same time. The group had been largely inactive for a while, and shortly after I paid for an organizer subscription, I received a notification that this group needed someone with an active organizer account to take the lead in order to stay on the platform. I stepped in so it could continue. Since I don’t know the original creator, I’m essentially starting from scratch and rebuilding the group with guidance from current members.

This group is a central hub for LGBTQ+ folks in the St. Louis region to find connection, community, and opportunities to gather.

Here’s what you can expect as we build:

• Shared resources about local groups, events, and meetups happening throughout the region.
• Community-driven updates — what gets posted here reflects what members say they want.
• Occasional Meetup-hosted events focused on connection, low-pressure socializing, or trying something new together.
• A place to belong, whether you’re new to St. Louis, newly out, reconnecting with community, or simply looking for your people.

As the group grows, we’ll continue adjusting based on member input. Nothing is set in stone — and that’s part of the fun.
