Gina is currently on a Meetup Standard: 6 months subscription plan.
- Therefore, if you want to contribute to help Gina (Organizer) and Lori, (Co-Organizer) pay the bill due every six months of 189.00 please donate twice a year, 5-20 dollars goes a long way in helping us maintain the dues for use of this site. Thanks, this is not expected but appreciated.
Also please join us as an event host. Just let me know, and you invite people to join you in events. We need more event host let's get more active with more leaders, for volunteer events, social justice causes or just for fun and community. Hang with like-minded people when you want to do things that affect social change for the good, find an event or a social justice cause you like to share with someone, then be an event host. I can post it on the meetup group about it and get some members to meet you there, things are always great when you can share a good event together.
liberal minded age 50 and over concerned citizens; this group engages in political discussions, debates, venting, socializing, dinner, coffee shop meetups, attending events and following through on action items for social justice and environmental protection, etc. We try to facilitate and be the change we want to see in the world. We always learn from one another and seek venues to stay plugged in to the social causes we hold dear to our hearts. Goal: to stay productive, keep meaning and hope in our lives while finding a way to live in this new reality. Times are hard right now we all need people to lean on. Rather it's dinner, a cocktail, a Rally, A Get out the Vote, a concert, or a charity event you don't have to feel isolated. You now have a group of caring people to help you thru this hostile take over. Keep being the change you want to see in the world.
P.S. We do request a photo that can I.D. your face.... when we look for you at a meetup or make contact with you in an email, we need to recognize who you are. Required: a clear photo or your membership will not be accepted. This is a closed group and it's for all of our member 's comfort level. If for some reason you don't want your photo on here , request my email and you can send it privately to me....
Photos will not be taken at our group events. At least this is our goal, and we try to keep it this way. Feel free to request no photos at any event as this is our policy. We like to provide a safe place to meetup and be able to express our political views. Some of us have conservatives who we love, and our part of our lives and families we don't want to cause any estrangement from folks we love. Besides we all must work together on all sides of the aisle.

No Kings Protest, save the date, Lou, KY/ location TBA, Nationwide protest
Location visible to members## "No Kings is a non-violent movement that continues to rise stronger, and we’re uniting once again to remind the world: America has No Kings, and the power belongs to the people."
comes amid President Trump’s latest escalations: threats to send militarized forces into U.S. cities, the continued detention and encampment of immigrants, and his recent remark that "a lot of people are saying, 'maybe we’d like a dictator.' The October mobilization is designed as a direct, non-violent rebuke to those authoritarian claims.
The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it. On June 14th, we’re showing up everywhere he isn’t — to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
Fresh links on the website of the No Kings coalition—which includes Indivisible, the ACLU, the American Federation of Teachers, Public Citizen, SEIU, MoveOn, and dozens of others—include a place to 'learn more" about planned actions in your local city and ways to support the effort.14 attendeesThis content is available only to members

Location visible to members## AN FYI EVENT
## Location
Louisville Democratic Party HQ
831 S 6th St
Louisville, KY 40203
Host: The Louisville Democratic Party, ....(No meetup host).....
Join the Louisville Democratic Party's Democratic Dinner- potluck style— and for October, it will be soup-style! We host these on the 3rd Sunday of the month. It is designed to meet like-minded people in a social setting and make connections with people working to elect more democrats in Louisville as well as letting you know of programs and events we have at the local party.
One of our members suggested hosting a soup night— and we think it is a great idea! We will have a couple of main soups, but bring your own, or something that is soup adjacent. Can't have soup without different types of bread! Salad probably is good too. Anyone want to get fancy so we can debate if chocolate fondue is soup or not? Let us know if you want to make it.
Should be a fun evening— looking forward to seeing you!4 attendeesThis content is available only to members
