A Wise Crowds x UX Fishbowl for a career in transition
How can we navigate the complexity of our careers as consultants and network weavers?

This question is alive for many of us. In this session, we will support a peer with a career transition & opportunity. In this pop-up playground session with Fito Network, we’ll play in this member-led and emergent learning experience bubbling up across our ecosystem. Hosted by Jeremy Akers, expect to actively participate through an Organizational Game Designed with Liberating Structures.

Some context from our client:
I am currently navigating a professional transition, seeking to focus my work exclusively on impact network weaving and systemic change. For over two decades, I've woven networks and worked in community contexts across Latin America and beyond, most recently within a nonprofit where I support around 30 global networks. However, I feel it's time to leave the institutional functions not directly tied to networking to dedicate myself fully to this craft.
My core challenge is defining a clear and viable path forward. While I am certain that I want my next step to center on impact networks making sure to incorporate my Latin American perspective, involve collaborative work, and provide financial stability, I am unsure of the best structure to achieve this. I am contemplating options such as working as an independent consultant, joining another network or organization as staff, or starting my own initiative. The field itself in our region often lacks formal recognition and common frameworks, which adds a layer of complexity to this career planning.
I would greatly value your collective insight to help me gain clarity. I am looking to better understand the practical realities, opportunities, and first steps associated with the different paths I've identified (or identify others I may have overseen!), so I can analyze them and make an informed decision on how to move forward.
