The Lafayette Libertarian Party Meetup Group Monthly Meetup
Hosted by Libertarian Party of Lafayette Parish
Details
In addition to the ongoing election efforts, we'll begin discussing the 2011 state and local elections. We already have a candidate for LA House district 45. There will be other house and senate seats up for grabs and anyone who think they might be interested should stop by and lets talk about a potential run.
The party is also in need of volunteers on several ongoing projects. If you are interested, please come on by and let us know so we can find something to fit your interests and time schedule.
We'll be discussing the 2010 Congressional elections, specifically district 7 which Boustany currently holds.
We'll be looking to develop an exploratory committee for a potential candidate, and we need some volunteers.
We are looking ideally for three, that's right three, candidates to qualify and campaign for the House seat. More on why at the meeting. We are also looking for two more senate candidates to run with Tony G against David Vitter.
Bring your thinking caps to talk strategy to energize our voter base and reach new voters in time for the fall elections next year.
If you or anyone you know of might be interested in running for office, even if just as practice, come on by Bisbano's and lets talk about it.
Locally, there will also be Lafayette Parish School Board elections next fall. So if Congress is a little too big and scary for you, consider running in your district for School Board. Goodness knows our public school system needs a healthy injection of Libertarian sanity.
