DC LP Updates

What's been going on since the election

Dear Bruce ,

A lot has happened since the summer, when the DC Libertarian Party regrouped and achieved our goal of becoming the District's newest major political party.

Here's a brief recap:
  • Petitioners worked DC's streets and communities to gather enough signatures to get ballot access for our congressional and presidential candidates. We gathered enough signatures and were on the November, 2012 ballot.
  • Bruce Majors, candidate for DC Delegate, surpassed the minimum number of votes needed to get the DC LP permanent ballot access. Bruce won 16,524 votes, capturing nearly 6% of the vote. Presidential candidate Gary Johnson even beat Governor Romney in a precinct!
  • The DC Libertarian Party won permanent ballot access and "major party" status, giving the party the same privileges that the Democratic, Republican, and DC Statehood Green parties enjoy.
  • Bruce Majors, candidate for DC Delegate, was featured on Reason TV! Click here to see his interview!
  • Ryan Sabot, DCLP Chair, was a guest on "All We Got," an online radio show based out of DC. Click here to listen to the segment!
  • A DC Board of Elections and Ethics-recognized bank account has been set up for the party, allowing the party to operate and continue to grow while remaining compliant with all laws and regulations.

Due to the costs associated with continuing to operate and grow the Libertarian Party of the District of Columbia, I humbly ask for your generous donations of any value. Any amount-- whether it be $1 or $1000-- will go a long ways in enabling the party to continue to grow and achieve more successes. To donate, please click here or see the donation section on the bottom of this e-mail.

I truly thank you for supporting the Libertarian Party of the District of Columbia. If I can be of any assistance to you, or if you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please feel free to e-mail me at [address removed]. I look forward to hearing from you.

In liberty,

Ryan Sabot
Chairman, Libertarian Party of the District of Columbia
