What we’re about

This is a revival of the old VPL group which existed before COVID. This is a fun group for anyone who visits the VPL downtown library frequently and would like to connect with others who also do the same. Originally I created this group in 2019 when I was at the library everyday to work on a project. I felt that it would be fun to sit with others who also come to the library often. Initially I was joined by students and others who were there all day like me, we sat together and it was awesome. However, the group grew quickly into a small active community where we organized all sorts of fun things. Board games, movies, walks, visiting the beach, hikes, and even nights out. We even hosted free computer programming lessons at the library itself. Now that COVID restrictions are going away, it's time to try this again. This group is especially perfect if you are new to Vancouver or shy in social settings. Since the primary purpose of the group is to sit together quietly at the library and do your own thing. All other activities are a bonus and always optional.
