Welcome to the LIC Sophomore Software Engineers Meetup! What's in a name...we all know about Senior Software Engineers. They get hired and placed in the best roles.
Then there are the Junior Software Engineers, who get hired as Interns and Apprentices, and later given the roles where they get mentored by Senior Engineers and molded to grow into the senior roles. Sophomores are the ones who have toiled for at least a year or two, have developed foundational development skills, but are not yet able to leverage those skills to get our desired job. Kind of like the sophomore of high school or college, we're "not quite ready for prime time".
This meetup group is dedicated to bringing together Sophomores for in-person meetups, to practice coding fullstack apps. We will be doing monthly one-, or two-day hackerthon-like events where group members get to network with other local Software Engineers, with similar technical background and skill levels.

- You MUST already know how to build an api, a frontend, and how to connect them before joining this group.
- You MUST reside in the Greater New York Area to join this group
- You must use a real name to join the group and to attend our in-person events, since a real first and last name will be needed for security purposes
- If you RSVP Yes for an event and you fail to show up (without cancelling your RSVP prior to the event)....you WILL BE REMOVED from the group permanently.
