🌿 A local private chef and foraging teacher is teaming up with Natives in Harmony for an afternoon of native plants, guided plant walks, chef-prepared wild foods, music, and nature.

Natives in Harmony is a native plant nursery with a special focus on rare, threatened, and endangered Ohio native plants, making it a pretty amazing setting for a day devoted to the plants, foods, and ecosystems of Ohio.

Rather than a traditional 2–4 hour foraging class, Down to Earth Day is designed as a relaxed afternoon to wander, learn, eat, listen to music, and spend time with other people interested in native plants, gardening, foraging, and the natural world.

Shagbark hickory nuts, maple syrup & spicebush berries

Mint, maple syrup, stinging nettle & lemon

🌿 ABOUT THE DAY

The whole idea is to celebrate just how interesting and abundant Ohio really is—from the native plants growing around us to the wild edible foods that can be found here.

Spend an autumn afternoon outside, learn the names and uses of some of the plants around us, explore a native plant nursery, try a seriously unusual wild-food menu, listen to music, and meet other people who love plants and nature.
