(Virtual) Life after 40 - A Men's Discussion Group (Zoom)

Details
ZOOM IN AND CONNECT WITH OTHERS. A multi-ethnic Zoom (for now) support group for gay, bisexual and trans masculine men 40 and over. A place for men to share their own stories and to connect with others.
This is not a therapy group.
We meet every 1st and 3rd Tuesday via Zoom from 7-8:30pm.
Event hosted by Oakland LGBTQ Community Center.
Click in 5 minutes before as we like to get started by 7:00-7:10pm. Once our Group Guidelines have been read, our group is 'locked' to new attendees so to maintain group continuity. Please join us on time.
We have a wonderful 'core group' of around 12 'regulars', and typically have 2-3 new men join in every month. Consistantly, the group has between 9-14 attendees at each Zoom event. While we are Oakland, CA based, and most attendees are from the SF Bay Area, we have also enjoyed the attendance of men joining in from out of the area, ie: Santa Rosa, LA, Central Valley, OR, NV, AZ to name a few. All GBTQQ men aged 40+ are welcome to attend, and you will find us to be both a close knit bunch, AND Very Welcoming to our New Attendees! Join us!

***Location: Zoom
(Note: The Zoom link changes for every meeting. It is posted on Meetup about 30 minutes prior to each meeting, and is visible only to attendees who have RSVP'd.)
*** DISCLAIMER: Affinity groups at the center reserve the right to prioritize the needs of the group that they and we have identified as underserved. It stands to reason that someone might mistakenly walk into an affinity space they do not identify with - without knowledge of the affinity affiliation. The Center cannot possibly prevent any occurrence of this unfortunate instance happening - even with great promotion - we cannot control the possibility of the occasional word of mouth misperception. We therefore have agreed as a community to respect the boundaries set by these affinity collective care circles and ask that anyone finding themselves in an instance of mistakenly entering an affinity circle that they do not identify with to please exit without taxing the collective or its facilitators to be traumatized by having to explain or defend the right to hush healthy boundaries set by the group.

Every 3rd Tuesday of the month until July 20, 2025
