Welcome to our group for people that live a smartphone-free life, are contemplating the switch, or just curious. One of the things smartphones do is convince us that we need the world at our fingertips, that this is even possible, whatever "the world" means. But what if the world is what is right in front of us? And that's all we need.

Join us for this meetup where we will discuss common challenges with giving up smartphone technology and their workarounds - sharing personal experiences or questions. Then we will do a half hour logging session - establishing posts in and around Rothko Chapel - where we write down concrete observations - anything from textures, to sounds, to people, to slants of light, to weather, to colors and movement (the list goes on). With our concrete observations in tow, we will then join again for a silent group writing session for 15 minutes where we then process this data and relate to it more subjectively - capping it off with sharing what we wrote, if you feel inclined.

Let's meet at the seating around the obelisk fountain in front of Rothko Chapel. I'll be wearing a red shirt. If it happens to be rainy, we can first meet at the covered patio of the museum gift shop, which is nearby. Museum admission is free (donations accepted) and there is usually always free parking surrounding the chapel.
