The Foundation: Old Masters Drawing Workshop (Term 1) - 5 WEEK

Do you want to draw the human figure, but feel intimidated by the complexity of a live model?
You are not alone. Drawing a living, moving person is one of the hardest challenges in art. If you dive in without a plan, it is easy to feel overwhelmed.
This course is your preparation.
On January 19th, we begin Term 1 of the 2026 Artist Roadmap: The Old Masters Workshop.
Think of this as the training ground for Life Drawing. Before we face the live model in Term 2, we will study the giants of history—Raphael, Rubens, Michelangelo—to learn their "vocabulary" of the human form.
What you will learn:

• The Inside-Out Method: How to build a figure structurally, rather than just tracing the outline.
• Line Quality: How to make confident, sweeping marks instead of scratchy, uncertain lines.

By the time you finish this 5-week foundation, you won't just be copying; you will have a toolkit of professional techniques ready to take into the Life Drawing room.
The Schedule: Mondays, Jan 19 – Feb 23. (Please note: There is a one-week break on Feb 9th. The course runs for 5 sessions total).

Time: 19:00 - 21:00 Venue: Woolstone Community Centre Church (Historic Venue).

Cost: £95 for the full 5-week foundation course. All professional materials are provided (Easels, boards, 8B pencils, newsprint).
