Life After a Breakup: Finding Support and Starting Fresh
Ending a long-term relationship or marriage, whether you're in your 20s or your 70s, can be incredibly disorienting. It often brings up grief, confusion, and big questions about who we are and what comes next. No matter where you are in the process, you don’t have to go through it alone.
Our groups offer space for honest conversation, reflection, and connection with others who are also rebuilding after the end of a significant relationship. These are respectful, supportive gatherings where people share real experiences and listen without judgment.
What to Expect
At the core of what we do are our Collective Healing groups, which follow a 12-topic structure based on Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends by Bruce Fisher and Robert Alberti. These topics guide us through key stages of healing—from the initial shock to re-establishing balance and eventually imagining new possibilities. While we have a structure, we also leave room for open, personal sharing at every session.
People join us at all different points in their journey, some right after a breakup, others after months or even years. Many find that staying connected to the group over time deepens their growth and sense of community.
When We Meet:
- 3rd Saturday, 10:15 AM – 12:00 PM at Cedar Hills United Church of Christ, Portland
- 1st Tuesday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Taborspace, Portland
- Midweek Zoom Check-In (1 hour) is a relaxed, online hangout designed for people who have attended either the Saturday or Tuesday sessions. It’s a chance to get a little extra support, swap stories or resources, and stay connected. Whether you're having a tough week or just want to see some familiar faces, it’s a midweek reminder that you’re not in this alone.
If you’re looking for a space to reflect, reconnect with yourself, and be in the company of others who truly understand, we’d love to have you join us.
