What we're about

"I want to liberate the artist from their mind's control, so that the messages and ideas of our inner-selves can be externalised to create the world we want to see around us." William Forde (Founder)

This Meetup community group has been established to showcase some of the great art events and activities that artists can get involved in around Perth, with a focus on the Life Drawing scene and supporting artists and models to overcome the interference of the mind in facilitating the illogical interpretations the artist make on the paper. We are finalising the development of a secure file sharing system and to launch 3 initiatives that have arisen from working with various organisers and advocates for life drawing.

As a group, we have a common interest secure the safety procedures and data collection that will validate the future of the life drawing scene now that it has begun exploding into the experience market with recent shifts in global buying behavoir.

We know that with time and your support we can help bring greater exposure to life drawing events here and on a new free website, by using prescreening, back end contracting to be tax conpliant and data management to drive an era of healthy numbers, profit and safe listings to extend exposure to the wider public securely, ising passwords and encryption.

We most importantly want to drive the supply end of the scene so that ultimately we can facilitate accessible access to aspiring artists to attend groups where they can develop their talent drawing models who pose for extended periods of time in the same pose/s, nude or with clothes on.

Listing an event with us here on Meetup is free so that organisers, participants and models can get the most out of this community group while we take things to the next step.

Due to numerous safety and compliance risks, we went away and have regrouped with some exciting solutions to things we didn't realise we were going to tackle hindering the low amount of work for male and female models.

To aspiring new models: Our own experience of the scene in Perth and many of the organisers we have spoke to, is of the consensus that it wants to support models that are residents of Perth and want to model as a professional job, earning ongoing income, rather than just doing it once or twice as a traveller or for non-business, personal development reasons. Other organisers may be casual about the way in which they set their expectations with you and similarly you may be with them and similarly, you may prefer to be casual with them. The organisers of this group are of the mind that ambiguous agreements create the opportunity for kind people to get less from the value proposition than they would have if they'd have known the terms of contracting prior, whether its the model's service quality, or timely payment by the organiser. We can also utilise much more of the opportunities being missed when needing model covers, due to lack of reassurance available to organisers about the suitability of models,

We are happy to promote experienced models that are travelling and have an ABN, to other organisers, where that fact is disclosed to the organiser.

More information and our model application form will be released in October 2019 to securely manage the storage and password protected retreval of data kept way off shore in Ireland, in compliance with the strictest of GDPR Privacy Law.

Organisers can search for and contract with models and book last minute covers by contacting the members directly or by emailing organisers@artistsandposers.com . Members can email lifedrawingperth-list@meetup.com to reach other members with their relevant content.

Organisers can utilise their Meetup dashboard as well as emailing and messaging members directly through the community feed by emailing lifedrawingperth-list@meetup.com .

2. HOW TO PAY AND BOOK

Payment to attend events, is currently paid directly to the organisers (often in cash) at the nominated venue and the scene accommodates for people utilising a drop in rate to pay on arrival, with preference of spots given to those that reserve their spot within the deadline nominated for that event.

We will be aiding the faciliation of booking links for online tickets over the coming 6-months for organisers we work with and a free link shortening service for your artist, model and organiser profiles.

Spots and easels at many events are limited, SO PLEASE RSVP IN ADVANCE here or directly with the organiser to avoid disappointment.

We except donations towards the group’s Meetup fees and the online running costs of the group at paypal.me/artcommunity (http://www.paypal.me/artcommunity). Much appreciated thanks in advance.

All model and organiser content is developed, published and managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, the Privacy Act and each user’s individual wishes with control of link sharing in the users hands.

3) OTHER INFO FOR EVENT ORGANISERS

Please get in contact by email if you wish to widen your exposure by having us list your events on multiple events platforms. We don’t provide SEO services, although we know how to showcase good content and tag it. We use simply listing tricks and easy IT get arounds to help community philanthropists thrive so they can enjoy more time doing what they love and creating amazing experiences.

If you would like to get help setting up, managing and running an email database and more structured marketing and listing campaigns for your life drawing events, please email will@artistsandposers.com or phone 0447699871 for a custom quote or general advice to get you going.

Ever tried Life Drawing? (Drawing a nude model in various poses) Are you close to the Midvale area? If so here's your chance!! This age old art form is actively making a rival in the experience market and Carolyn offers experience, integrity and compassion in guiding you through what can be a rather daunting and uncomfortably new experience for many. Don't worry, the models are very professional and this event is a great way to step out of your comfort zone and forget about your busy life for 3 hours. Practice and perfect your artist skills and get exposure to a variety of male and female models, trained to tailor to and challenge your eye for proportions, detail and your creative interpretation of what you see in the world. You won't be alone in this public group event. Your safety and the comfort and safety of the models is of highest priority to protect the sacred integrity that the models offer to you for 3 hours as an established or aspiring artist. Spots are limited so please RSVP here or and then ring through to Carolyn to check availability so that you can comfortably take a spot with an easel or board. Share-link for anyone you may want to attend with is: www.yogiurls.com/art Art is one of the most intriguing ways to witness the artists ego at play, with a chance for you to be kind to yourself as you allow your creative energy to flow in a non-judging way. If you understand the metaphysical nature of the universe, you may also be aware of the notion that your outside world and perspective is a message from you and we encourage you to sit with your creations and allow time to understand them with compassion for yourself. You are not 'shit' at drawing (we hear this all the time from students). You are the all seeing, all creating transfigurers of the unknown and your participation is welcome. Be among people who genuinely care about assisting you on your artistic journey and have some fun doing something you love or something new if you've never done it before. Carolyn is a fantastic art tutor and host, offering Tea, coffee & nibbles during the break. Please BYO your own drawing stuff to avoid disappointment. Payment is made in cash directly to Carolyn and all inquiries should be directed (preferable via phone call) to Carolyn who can help you with any queries you may have.
