Memorial Day Weekend 2024 Ride, 4 days/3 nights

Details

This Ride is hosted by Ralph Bautista...

Get ready for Memorial Day Weekend 2024. We are planning a trip to Arizona via Prescott, Tombstone, Yuma and other points of interest along the way.

Please read this entire ride description which includes hotel details, approximate distance before gas stops, and “Skill Level” requirements before signing up for this event.

Here is a quick overview of the trip… We will minimize interstates and take backroads, scenic desert roads, mountain passes and plenty of twisties. The first 3 days we will travel between 381 and 419 miles
per day with an average seat time of 7 hours, travel time longer with breaks.

Total trip distance 1,450.

Gas stops every 140 miles, so if your bike cannot make this distance, you must bring a Jerry gas can with you.

Day 1: Ride to Prescott via I-10 through Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms via Parker before we start the trek up the mountain towards Prescott.

Day 2: Leave Prescott and make a short run up the mountain with some fun twisties, beautiful views before arriving to the old mining town of Jerome. We will continue southeast towards Tonto National Forest and Theodore Roosevelt Lake before arriving and spending the night in Tombstone.

Day 3: Leave Tombstone and take a short trip south to Bisbee and check-out Lavender Pit before heading towards Yuma. Before Yuma, we will take several backroads before jumping on the 8 at Gila Bend.

Day 4: Go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast as a group before visiting the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park and making our short trek back home, approximately 260 miles. Shortest distance of the weekend.

If you’re ready to ride and have fun with like-minded riders, please join us. The first step is to RSVP and make your hotel reservations. Please only RSVP if you are intending to go, so we can have an accurate headcount.

SKILL LEVEL:
Intermediate to Advanced Riders ONLY due to the technical nature of twisty roads and distance. You must have ridden with LCRG before; this cannot be your first ride with this group.

Sweep will assist in emergencies and minor breakdowns but will not wait for stragglers. We will not have a chase vehicle, so you need to have your bike in tip-top condition with AAA tow service paid up.

For your safety and that of the group, we require that you show up with a DOT-approved helmet, full tank of gas, and tires in good condition.

Meet up at Lifestyle Cycles @ 7:00am,
Pre-ride meeting at 7:15am,
KSU @ 7:30am
