Sierra Nevada Mountain Passes Ride, 5 days/4 nights

Details

This trip was epic in 2022 so as a fan-favorite we are doing it again! We will have 5 full-day rides to get our wind therapy, add in lots of twisties, beautiful forests, Pacific Coast, good company with other like-minded ride enthusiasts and it's the perfect combination for a great trip!

Please read this entire ride description and “Skill Level” requirements before signing up for this event.

Here's a quick overview of the trip...

Day 1: Up 395 to Topaz Lake in Nevada. Unpack your motorcycles because this will be home-away-from-home for the next 3 nights. (426 miles, 8 hours seat time, travel time longer with breaks)

Day 2: We will ride Monitor Pass, visit Lake Tahoe’s Emerald Bay overlook, and ride Kit Carson Pass. (213 miles, 5 hours seat time)

Day 3: We will ride Carson Pass and Ebbetts Pass which is less than 2 lanes wide but lots of fun! (240 miles, 6 hours seat time)

Day 4: Pack up our motorcycles to head towards the coast but not until hitting the breathtaking Sonora Pass, my fav pass of the Sierra Nevada's. We will spend the night in Gilroy. (288 miles, 7 hours seat time)

Day 5: Ride home via country road CA-25 and Hwy-101. (414 miles, 8 hours seat time)

Total trip is 1,581 miles. If you’re ready to have some fun, please join us. First step is to RSVP and make your hotel reservations especially since this is a holiday weekend. But please only RSVP if you are intending to go, so we can have an accurate headcount.

Regarding hotels... You will need to book your own rooms. Bill and I are staying at the following hotels:

Hotel in Gardnerville, NV: Topaz Lodge

check-in: Thursday, July 3;
check-out: Sunday, July 6
(3 nights)

We booked through Hotels.com for $109 per night (refundable).

Hotel in Gilroy, CA: Comfort Inn Gilroy @ 8435 San Ysidro Ave.

check-in: Sunday, July 6;
check-out: Monday, July 7
(1 night)

We booked through Hotels.com for $115.67 total (refundable).

This should be a really fun trip!

SKILL LEVEL:
Intermediate to Advanced Riders ONLY due to the technical nature of the twisty mountain roads.

Experienced Group Riders ONLY. You must have ridden with LCRG before; this cannot be your first ride with this group.

Sweep will assist in emergencies and breakdowns but will not wait for stragglers. We will not have a chase van or trailer so you need to have your bike in tip-top condition with AAA tow service paid up.

For your safety and that of the group, we require that you show up with a DOT-approved helmet, full tank of gas, and tires in good condition.

Meet up at Lifestyle Cycles @ 7:00am;
Pre-ride Meeting @ 7:15am;
KSU @ 7:30am
