West Hollywood Halloween Carnival
Details
If you like ghosts & goblins and the most outrageous costumes you've ever seen, then you will not want to miss the largest Halloween street party in the world which happens in West Hollywood. Each year, more than 500,000 people take to the streets of Santa Monica Boulevard to enjoy the craziest, most eccentric costume creations ever. The big draws of the evening are the Halloween Costume Contest and crowning of an Honorary "Queen of the Carnival." there will also be fantastic live entertainment and food vendors. *I suggest eating before coming as you will have to wait in line a long time to get food!
The Carnival is the Los Angeles area's second largest event, second only to the Tournament of Roses New Year’s Day Parade, and marks the finale of Halloween celebrations in West Hollywood Admission is free and the event starts at 8 PM and runs until 12 AM between La Cienega Boulevard and La Peer Drive on Santa Monica Boulevard.
I would recommend bringing your flash. Do not bring a tripod, it's way too crowded to use one in most spots. The below photos were taken with a flash.
Lets get there early as parking can be a nightmare of epic proportions, trust me. Carmageddon was nothing. Get there EARLY or don't come at all. Please note that due to all the people at the event, cell phone networks are often too busy to make calls, so don't count on your cell phone working... Did I say parking is a nightmare?
