The Lightness Meditation Method:

--Sit comfortably, relax and close your eyes.

--Begin with the idea that there is a peaceful lightness in your heart, and then let go.

--Do not try to direct your mind anywhere. Simply exist.

--As stray thoughts enter your mind, simply ignore them. If you have lots of thoughts, gently return to the idea of peaceful lightness in your heart.

--Over time you will progressively feel lighter and lighter.

--Meditate until you hear the bell rung by the facilitator, and then come out of it slowly over the next 3-4 minutes.

--Optional: After meditation, write down your experience in your journal.

*NOTE: It is not a problem if you keep having a continual stream of thoughts. This is natural; it is the process of your mind relaxing and emptying itself. Do not push away or fight with your thoughts - simply ignore them and they will float away. This takes some practice but you will soon become skilled at ignoring your thoughts, and this is a huge accomplishment.
