Meditate & Create - Alcohol Ink Art with Ann King!

Details

Come join us for a fun afternoon of creativity at Meditate & Create - Alcohol Ink Art with Ann King!

Local artist, Ann King, will be at Light Works on Friday, November 15th @ 2:00 to show us how to use alcohol ink to create our own personal and unique pieces of art. We will begin with a brief meditation to invite spirit to guide us and inspire us.

What is alcohol ink painting?

Alcohol inks are an acid-free, highly-pigmented, alcohol based and fast drying medium to be used on non-porous surfaces such as ceramic tile, glass or Yupo (plastic) paper. Mixing colors can create a vibrant marbled effect and the possibilities can only be limited by what you are willing to try.

Alcohol inks seem to have a mind of their own. When Ann paints with alcohol inks, she sometimes feels like the spirit world is helping her to paint. The colors react to each other in amazing ways when you overlap them. The ink floats along the surface of the non-porous material and can be moved, shifted and blended before it dries, and they do dry fast, so you have to move fairly quickly.

Alcohol inks are also very forgivable. They can be completely wiped off and removed with alcohol if you don’t like what you’ve painted. The inks are very highly concentrated so a little drop can go a very long way. Once the ink dries on the surface, it becomes waterproof.

This is a great opportunity to explore your creative side, learn a new art technique, meet new friends, and maybe just have a laugh or two!

Cost - $35 (includes all materials)

Class size limited to 10 attendees so be sure to RSVP!
(4 person minimum to conduct class)
