Join us for a hands-on Dim Sum workshop! Learn about the history of a traditional Chinese dish, hear personal stories, and cook together.

Dim Sum (點心) is a type of Cantonese cuisine that originated in the city of Guangzhou, China 1,000 years ago. Beginning as a tradition of serving two sweet or savory snacks with tea service, Dim Sum has evolved into a weekly brunch activity called Yum Cha (飲茶) that many Chinese families participate in to catch up each other. With over 2,000 varieties of Dim Sum, each meal is a chance to experience something new.
In this workshop led by students from the Master of Service Design program at Hochschule Luzern, you will learn how to make one traditional Cantonese Dim Sum dish with two different fillings, a dessert, and taste a special Chinese tea. You will learn about the history and significance of the dishes and the philosophy behind the recipes.
