Hi! I'm Jaylene. Welcome to the Lillington Plein Air Painting Meetup group! I have been oil painting for about five years now and I also run the Raleigh Outdoor Painting Meet up group. It's a much bigger group and I have more events scheduled there. We have a Facebook group too, if you are interested. Raleigh Outdoor Painting Group | Facebook. As time permits, I will schedule more events in the Lillington area.
Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, this group is for anyone who enjoys painting and drawing outdoors. We focus on drawing, oil painting, watercolor, and other mediums while encouraging creativity and friendship. Join us as we explore the beauty of our surroundings and capture it on canvas. Share your passion for plein air art with like-minded individuals and be inspired by the sights and sounds of nature. Let's create art together in the great outdoors!
Please message me if you have any questions.
Happy Arting,
Jaylene

Phillips Memorial Park Town of Cameron InfoThis will be a very relaxed, social art outing with the intention of getting out in nature with a bit of self-expression on the side.
If you are new to painting outdoors and want to know what to bring see my list of suggestions below:
camp chair, water, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, snacks/drinks
Chalk pastels are the easiest to start with and have great portability. I recommend a set of 24, Strathmore multimedia sketchbook and some cotton swabs and some wet wipes. A music stand makes for a very inexpensive and portable easel.
This event is not instructional however I do enjoy geeking out about art, so if you have questions, please direct message me.
Also, I run a Facebook group, Raleigh Outdoor Painting Group. Please feel free to join us there as well.Looking forward to seeing you,

- Wear comfortable clothing for the weather and supportive shoes for walking on uneven terrain.
- Bring a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray.
- Bring water and any other beverages or snacks you may want.
- If you don't have an easel or don't prefer standing, bring a folding chair/stool or picnic blanket.
- Make sure you're able to carry your supplies for short to medium distances, depending on your preferred painting location.
- Be aware of your surroundings and the weather. Watch out for uneven terrain and signs of heat exhaustion. Hike at your own risk. Stay hydrated.
- Leave the area as you found it or better. Bring any trash out with you.
