Donington on Bain - 11km Hike
Details
Happy New Year everyone!!
Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to get back into doing some hikes around Lincolnshire. We’re starting with a beautiful scenic walk in the west side of the Lincolnshire wolds, around the villages of Donington on Bain, Bisathorpe, Gayton le Wold and Grimblethorpe. We will be starting in the cute village of Donington on Bain, at the Black Horse Inn.
This circular route is approx 11km and will take us just under 3 hours. I have booked us some tables for a well-deserved Sunday Lunch at the Black Horse Inn at 1pm if you would like to join me!
You can find the route on alltrails here
Please note, we are starting at the halfway point on the route, in Donington instead of in Little Gayton. This is so we can end up at the pub! However, the route will pretty much follow the all trails one, apart from at Gayton where we will cut off a small section.
Please wear sensible footwear, especially as parts of the route might be muddy. It might be a good idea to bring a spare pair of shoes to change into for the pub if it is really muddy. Please also dress appropriately and bring layers/waterproof gear. It also says the route is ‘moderate’ in difficulty so please bear that in mind. The route is suitable for dogs but they must be kept on a lead when we are crossing some cattle fields. There are also some stiles to climb over/be lifted over. The pub also welcomes four-legged friends.
Meeting point: The Black Horse Inn car park, Main Rd, Donington on Bain, Louth LN11 9TJ
Date: Sunday 1st February
Time: 10am
See you there!
Kat x
