An easy walk along field paths, tracks and quiet roads in the Scopwick, Kirkby Green and Blankney areas.
The walk starts and finishes at the Stepping Out parking area, at the end of Vicarage Lane, alongside the recreation ground.
The walk is relatively flat, with just a few gentle slopes. There are 3 stiles. The walk will include a look at the War Graves in Scopwick cemetery dominated by its huge, white Cross of Sacrifice. We will also pass the memorial to the 8 airmen, who died in 1945 when their 2 planes were in a collision nearby.
Sadly there is no pub at the halfway point but there is a picnic area at a second "Stepping Out" carpark at Blankney, so bring some festive drinks/nibbles. I am still trying to contact Blankney Golf club to see if we can use their facilities as none members.
I will be booking a table for lunch at The Royal Oak in Scopwick which serves traditional Greek cuisine during the week as well as pub classics but their Sunday roasts are the best!
Dogs welcome.
£1 subs please.
