Filey to Scarborough Coastal Walk
Details
The walk starts at the Country Park Car Park in Filey Brigg Country Park. Cost is £7 for the day so car sharing recommended. There are toilets and a cafe here (but there is a charge to use the toilets!).
This is a 10 mile route, but there are plenty of stop-off points and sights to see with lots of rest breaks.
We start off at Filey Brigg a dramatic, 1-mile long rocky peninsula stretching into the North Sea. Famous for its dramatic 20-meter cliffs and rich marine life, it is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a local Nature Reserve.
We then follow the Cleveland Way and King Charles III path to Newbiggin Cliff and North Cliff.
We continue on to Cayton Bay with breathtaking views. We will stroll through the woodlands and make a pitstop at one of the local cafes (toilets also available).
We continue on along the coastal path passing Scarborough South Cliff Golf Course, through the South Cliff Gardens, passing the Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift and finishing at the castle.
There will be plenty of time to explore Scarborough before getting the Number 12 bus back to Filey from the Railway Station. Buses run every 30 minutes, cost £3, and dogs can travel on the bus free of charge at the discretion of the bus driver.
