Hunmanby and Filey Circular
Details
Hunmanby is a rural village that sits on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Quite a number of buildings date back to the 17th Century and perhaps the oldest building which still exists (apart from the Parish Church) is the Manor House, once well known as Low Hall Manor, which we pass on Sheepdyke Lane.
The early Norman Church of All Saints stands on the main village street. There are some Saxon carvings from around 900 A.D. in the north wall of the Church.
The village has a small street of shops and 2 local public houses and still has the market place cross.
We make our way over farmlands, woodlands and roads via the village of Muston into Filey before walking along the beachfront of Filey Sands. There are toilets here and a chance to stop for ice cream before heading back across the farmlands to Hunmanby.
I have booked a table for lunch at The White Swan.
Let me know in the comments please if you are stopping for lunch.
