Woolesthorpe Manor Visit and Walk
Details
Woolsthorpe Manor in Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, near Grantham, Lincolnshire, England, is the birthplace and family home of Sir Isaac Newton. In the orchard within the grounds is Newton's famous apple tree where Newton discovered the law of gravitation.
A Grade I listed building, it is now owned by the National Trust and open to the public.
In the Science Centre, all ages can get hands-on with some of Isaac's most famous experiments.
There is also Newton's Barn coffee shop for refreshments/lunch after our self led tour.
Free entry for National Trust members or £15 for adults
Depending on interest we can then head off on a walk around Woolesthorpe and walk in the footsteps of Isaac Newton from Woolsthorpe Manor to St John the Baptist’s Church, his parish church in Colsterworth.
Starting at Woolsthorpe Manor, the walk takes in two villages passing the brook on Water Lane and then crossing the River Witham.
