Some things should never be corrected.
Some consequences should never be disturbed.
Something has happened that should not have been possible.
The information is incomplete.
The consequences are unclear.
And every answer creates another question.
At first, the problem seems simple.
Something went wrong.
Perhaps it can be fixed.
But the more the group learns, the harder it becomes to decide what “fixing” it actually means.
What can be justified?
What can be undone?
And at what point does trying to make something right become an act of destruction?
Every new piece of information changes what came before.
Every choice carries consequences that may not be immediately visible.
And eventually, the group may have to confront a far more uncomfortable question:
If you could make it right, would you?
Welcome to Thought Experiment, a meetup where we explore large “What if…?” scenarios through discussion, role-play and difficult decisions.
Each session places the group inside one unfolding story.
New information is revealed in phases, forcing participants to reconsider what they believe about morality, responsibility, trust, consequence and human nature.
Some people bring research.
Others bring instinct, imagination and personal values.
There are no perfect answers. The aim is curiosity, disagreement and the uncomfortable moment when a simple answer stops feeling simple.
Palimpsest is part of our Horrors of Consequence arc — stories about choices whose effects extend far beyond the moment they are made, and what happens when people try to escape, reverse or correct what has already been set in motion.
This event is for curious minds of all kinds: students, professionals, creatives, science-fiction fans, psychological-thriller fans, philosophy lovers or anyone who enjoys thinking differently.
