A celebration of April 19th, 1943 — and the curious Swiss chemist who never meant to go quite so far

Dear fellow travellers,
Eighty-odd years ago, a man named Albert Hofmann swallowed a small quantity of a compound he had synthesised five years earlier and largely forgotten about. He then attempted to cycle home from his Basel laboratory. He did not, by all accounts, have a straightforward journey.
We think this deserves a party.

▸ Brief Talk: From ergot to enlightenment — a short history of LSD-25: its accidental discovery, Hofmann's fateful self-experiment, how a lab curiosity became a cultural earthquake and the latest research on LSD for relieving anxiety
▸ Open floor — your stories, your journeys. A safe and generous space to share personal experiences with the molecule. All perspectives warmly welcome; no tales too strange for this room.
