In this presentation, I'll explore the implementation of a data mesh from a practical perspective, drawing on our direct experience with a client project. After introducing the foundational concepts of the data mesh model, I'll discuss its significance as a transformative approach for managing and utilizing data across decentralized environments. We'll delve into specific challenges encountered and the bespoke solutions devised to address them, including the adoption of advanced data platform architectures, effective data governance practices, and the facilitation of seamless data interoperability. Through real-world examples, I'll highlight how these strategies not only resolved immediate issues but also laid the groundwork for scalable, resilient data ecosystems.

David Navalho is the Head of Software Engineering at Marionete, where he specializes in the development of sophisticated data solutions, including platforms, data mesh architectures, and data governance frameworks. With a background in distributed systems research, David has transitioned his expertise into practical applications, helping clients navigate and solve complex data challenges.
