“Stories with Pictures"

Details
Dear Book Rafters,
Leonardo da Vinci described the symbiotic relationship between painting and literature (poems) as follows: Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.
Have you ever read a poem or a scene from a novel / short story that is inspired by a painting? Or have you ever come across a beautiful painting that depicts a literary scene? At the next Book Raft session you can bring any of the following:
- a excerpt from a novel, a short story or a poem inspired by a painting (or about a painting)
- a painting that depicts a literary scene
- a literary passage that, in your opinion, reads like a painting
Please, do join us at Bookshop Bivar and let's talk about the fascinating correspondences between these two art forms!
NOTE:
Suggested donation to cover the expenses of this meetup group: 3 Euros.
