In this talk, Haoyi Li will explore the challenges of build tooling and how object-oriented programming concepts can simplify the experience. He’ll introduce Mill, an experimental Java build tool that demonstrates how builds can be faster, safer, and easier.
Bio:
Haoyi Li is an MIT graduate who has built infrastructure for companies like Dropbox and Databricks. He’s a prolific open-source contributor with projects exceeding 10,000 stars on GitHub. His expertise spans cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, programming languages, and high-performance web applications.

Nuno Boavida is a Lead Software Engineer at Mastercard with over two decades of experience. He has led technical teams and projects at companies like Zetes, Vision-Box, and Siemens, focusing on identity solutions and secure systems. His expertise includes Java, microservices, embedded systems, and leadership in hybrid and international environments.
